Demet Dayi is an artist born in İzmir in 1977.

She graduated from Algonquin College Applied Arts and Science in Ottawa, Canada in 2001. She left Canada in 2010 and moved to Istanbul, where she continued her painting studies at the Selahattin Yıldırım Atelier between 2011 and 2013. The artist continued her work in her studio in İzmir between 2014 and 2022, and moved to the United States in 2023. Demet Dayi, who has been continuing her artistic work in her studio in Miami, USA since 2023, has participated in 11 solo exhibitions as well as many national and international group exhibitions and symposiums.

The artist, who shapes her works with associations without a preliminary design stage, exhibits a unique artifice aesthetic in this unmediated creative process; where texture and color are intertwined. In this adventure, she stands out with her aspect that supports the formation of contingent, dynamism and action. An abstract narrative style dominated by stains with a different and even sometimes unconventional material aesthetic is dominant in Demet Dayi's paintings.
